“Celebrity Endorsed Invention, the Sbyke™, Launches at International Toy Fair”
NEW YORK: Las Vegas based entrepreneurs reveal the sbyke™, a patented rear-steering scooter to the 2011 International Toy Fair in New York. The product has already received support from celebrities. The sbyke™ is the newest innovation in sporting equipment and will soon be a household staple.
Bart Wilson, President of sbyke™, and brother Steve Wilson, Vice President, were inspired after years of racing in their family. Racing Optics Inc., their first company together, successfully changed the racing industry through innovation. Now, they’re continuing their legacy with the sbyke™. Steve remembers the radio flyer’s of the 1950′s: “I grew up in a family where we lived, breathed and played racing. While dad was prepping his car, the kids would be having our own race on scooters and running around the pits” he reminisces. Their father was racing great Dempsey Wilson who participated in both USAC Midget and Indy racing in the 50′s and 60′s.
Bart is proud that he is continuing this tradition: “Sbyke™ is already being used the way we envisioned it, by the whole family. It’s fun for dad and daughter. It’s perfect for soccer Saturday’s at the fields. College students may now actually get to class on time!”
Sbyke™ joined forces with 15 time Motocross, Supercross legend Ricky Carmichael and current NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver to extend the sbyke’s™ use into the race pits. The celebrity was thrilled to support the sbyke™ and when they’re not being used at work, he takes them home to his kids: “The sbyke™ is great fun! The team glides around the pits on the sbyke™, then I come home and the kids run circles around me with it” Carmichael admits.
The sbyke™ passed rigorous testing before being granted a patent by the patent office, both in the U.S. and internationally. Preproduction is underway, with initial models released this fall. You’ll see the sbyke™ right next to bicycles, skateboards and scooters. Companies selling sporting goods, toys, games or recreation gear could fit in an aisle of sbyke’s™ with ease.
The company offers customization and shipment of the lightweight sbyke™. “We want to let riders decide how and where to use the sbyke™. Campus, concerts, conferences…YES!” states Bart. The company plans to bring sbyke™ to select university campuses this fall as well as a few choice retailers to be announced later this year. The aircraft quality materials can stand up to the wear and tear of college students and the kids on the playground. Easy to get around it’s a perfect solution for the whole family to “Go Anywhere.”
